Machweo, which means "sunset" in Swahili, is perched on a hill offering unparalleled panoramic views across the Maasai steppe, Monduli Mountains and Mt. Meru. With just six cottage suites, each featuring separate sitting and living area, and three honeymoon suites, Machweo is a quiet getaway before or after safari. Machweo Wellness Retreat is an intimate property situated east of Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania. The lodge is perched on a hill with stunning vistas overlooking Mt. Meru and the Maasai steppe. With only three double honeymoon suites located within the main building and six private cottages, Machweo is a tranquil retreat at the beginning or end of a safari. Every room features an en suite bathroom—the suites have luxurious bathtubs—and the cottages also feature separate sitting areas, spacious outdoor patios and incredible views. Machweo's revitalizing spa features a sauna, steam bath, swimming pool and various treatments including a variety of massages, Ayurvedic treatments, hamam, reflexology, manicures and pedicures. Yoga is also available.
