Wildlife Viewing & Activities
At Saruni Mara, Maasai warriors guide you, sharing their ancient wisdom and local knowledge of the animals, their way of life and their secret corners of the most iconic and celebrated game reserve in Kenya, a truly authentic safari experience. Activities revolve around early morning and late afternoon wildlife drives as well as night game drives to see nocturnal animals and predators becoming active after dark. Guided walks and cultural activities are also on offer in this private conservancy. Guests can also venture into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve to see even more, but the exclusive nature of the conservancy means you can see all the wildlife and action in close proximity and even within camp without having to encounter the crowds of the main park.
The Maasai Mara is home to an abundance of resident wildlife year-round. The great migration of nearly two million wildebeest and zebra is at its peak between late July and early October, while the local Loita wildebeest migration typically arrives in June. Other typical sightings may include a number of antelopes, endemic birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on rain patterns and wildlife movements.
