Tucked within a secluded grove of riverine woodland on the banks of the Talek River, Naibor Camp is a striking combination of traditional safari luxury and contemporary style and comfort. The camp is strategically close to the location of the annual wildebeest migration across the Mara River, while unsurpassed wildlife viewing occurs throughout the year. Embrace the ambience in the evenings, overlooking the river by candlelight from your dinner table in exquisite peace.
Our Expert Says
Naibor is one of my favorite camps in the Mara for clients who truly appreciate a sense of seclusion and relish the spine-tingling possibility of encountering major wildlife in camp. Located on the banks of a rushing river, the camp is in a sector of the Mara least frequented by other vehicles, yet among the richest in possible wildlife sightings. The camp is beautiful, and every detail is considered – a fantastic choice!

Wildlife Viewing & Activities
Naibor Camp is a superb location from which to explore the Maasai Mara and its vast array of wildlife. Numerous species of herbivores and ungulates support the many carnivores living here. Exceptional wildlife viewing happens throughout the year, and from July to November the annual wildebeest migration passes through the area. Naibor Camp is ideally located close to all the major wildebeest crossing sites over the Mara River. The main focus at Naibor is daily game drives in open-sided 4X4 Land Cruisers to observe and photograph the extraordinary concentrations of wildlife. Bush meals and sundowners are highlights while out on a drive. Cultural visits to nearby Maasai villages just outside the reserve can also be arranged, for a chance to observe traditional dances and interact with the local people. Another option is a hot air balloon flight over the vast grasslands teeming with wildlife, with a champagne breakfast upon landing.
The Maasai Mara is home to an abundance of resident wildlife year-round. The great migration of nearly two million wildebeest and zebra is at its peak between late July and early October, while the local Loita wildebeest migration typically arrives in June. Other typical sightings may include a number of antelopes, endemic birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on rain patterns and wildlife movements.

Conservation
Naibor Camp aids and involves nearby Maasai communities in preserving wildlife and environment, which provides them with a source of income. Rural populations are able to benefit from their natural resources in a sustainable and non-destructive manner, in order to be better able to care for their families and improve their standard of living. Naibor employs staff from the nearby community; in addition, the community receives a direct contribution on a per-night basis for every guest in the camp. These contributions are dedicated to community social development projects. Naibor also helps to channel donations into local micro-finance, health and education projects. The Naibor Shop is specifically aimed at providing an outlet for locally made Maasai crafts, providing the people with a market for their artistic talents. The women rely on the sale of their intricately beaded jewelry to bring in vital money to school, feed and provide medical care for their children.
