Sirikoi is a spectacular safari lodge on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, situated on private land and surrounded by the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Set in a shady acacia grove and overlooking a natural waterhole fed from a mountain spring, Sirikoi offers some of the best wildlife viewing in East Africa. Deluxe accommodations and unparalleled hospitality stay at Sirikoi almost as extraordinary as the wildlife itself.

The Camp
Location: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Number of Tents: 4 + cottage and house
Sirikoi was created as a unique camp that combines luxurious comfort and unmatched wildlife viewing. The camp’s four luxury tents are built on platforms with private verandas overlooking the waterhole. Each features a living area with fireplace and an elegant bathroom with a Victorian bath tub and a shower. The secluded two-bedroom Sirikoi Cottage and three-bedroom Sirikoi House are comprised of wood, thatch and stone featuring private kitchens, dining rooms, living spaces and decks and are situated in a private corner of the camp, near wetlands where elephant and buffalo are regular visitors. At Sirikoi the spacious common living and dining areas, infinity swimming pool and deck are set within extensive lawns and scattered acacia trees and overlook a natural waterhole where animals frequently come to wallow and drink. Evening sundowners with views of distant mountain ranges, fabulous meals beneath the stars by a roaring fire and the sounds of animals in camp late at night are just a small part of this magical experience.

Wildlife Viewing & Activities
Vistas of distant mountain ranges and a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kenya provide a striking setting for game drives and bush walks. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy boasts more than 70 different species of mammals. There are roughly equal numbers of black and white rhino, and the world's largest concentration of endangered Grevy zebra resides at Lewa as well. You may also see elephant, buffalo, greater kudu, oryx, lion, leopard and cheetah, to name but a few. The Conservancy also teems with birdlife, with more than 350 species across the diverse topography, which includes rolling plains, hills and kopjes, thick forest, valleys, escarpments, wetlands and rivers. Wildlife viewing on bush walks and from traditional 4x4 vehicles will surpass your expectations! Another exciting aspect of Sirikoi is its proximity to a myriad of optional activities, including bush fly camping, fishing, horseback riding, camel safaris, lion tracking, bi-plane rides, helicopter excursions and Maasai community visits.
The conservancies of the Laikipia District have varying concentrations and species of wildlife, and the below chart helps to illustrate major wildlife sightings often experienced in the area. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a rhino sanctuary, and this and other reserves in Laikipia feature unique subspecies, such as reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Jackson’s hartebeest and a number of other mammals, birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on seasonality and wildlife movements.

Conservation
Sirikoi is run from solar energy, has its own extensive organic vegetable and fruit garden, free range chickens, a dairy herd and a crystal clear mountain spring providing all the lodge’s water. The one-acre organic garden supplies fresh daily produce and is the most prodigious of its type at any lodge or camp in Kenya. A huge selection of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers grow in abundance including bananas, tree tomatoes, avocadoes, lemongrass and cosmos.
