Ol Seki Mara Camp creates a luxurious living space in six enormous, rounded “Nina” tents, each with a double and single bed dressed in highest-quality white linens. Two new two-bedroom suites with private living and dining areas are also available. Common areas are furnished in crisp, spare style, incorporating cooling whites and neutral colors. Wildlife Viewing & Activities
On the edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Naboisho Conservancy offers all the wildlife thrills of this famous region without its infamous crowds. At Ol Seki, guests enjoy a truly isolated safari experience evocative of a century ago. Day trips into the reserve can also be organized, including a picnic lunch outing to the Mara River to see the crossing during the migration. All wildlife drives are customized to guests’ wishes; no schedules dictate the agenda. With enormous numbers of animals year-round, wildlife viewing is always superb. Open 4x4 drives and guided safari walks may reveal the Big Five, which are all resident in Mara Naboisho: elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. Cheetah are plentiful, as are the hoofed game they prey upon, multitudes of wildebeest, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle and myriad other antelope. Night drives reveal nocturnal species, including leopards hunting. Hot air balloon rides and cultural visits to a local Maasai village are also options.
The Maasai Mara is home to an abundance of resident wildlife year-round. The great migration of nearly two million wildebeest and zebra is at its peak between late July and early October, while the local Loita wildebeest migration typically arrives in June. Other typical sightings may include a number of antelopes, endemic birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on rain patterns and wildlife movements.
