With just six tents, MilaTented Camp is situated in a private area in the far south of the Serengeti, a place inhabited by indigenous tribes and free-roaming wildlife, the deep roar of lions and trumpets of elephant herds. It's a place preserved in time where you forget the rest of civilization exists and you can begin to reconnect with pristine nature and humanity at a deep level in an intimate and tranquil setting.

The Camp
With only six tented rooms set within the private Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, Mila Tented Camp offers a deeply authentic and uncrowded wildlife experience at the southern end of the Serengeti National Park. Each classic canvas tent beckons a simpler time, with zip-up sides and mosquito netting. An en suite bathroom features double vanities and both indoor and outdoor showers. Paraffin lanterns are lit throughout camp in the evening, adding an ambience that may have been enjoyed 100 years ago, yet guests have the modern comforts of hot running water, electric lights and even Wi-Fi in camp.

Wildlife Viewing & Activities
Located in Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, a conservation concession dedicated to the balance between wildlife and communities, this area is only available to a handful of guests, facilitating an excellent, uncrowded safari experience within the greater Serengeti ecosystem. Enjoy traditional day and night wildlife drives in open-sided 4x4 Land Cruisers, up close and personal observation of the leopards of Mwiba, guided bush walks with Mwiba scouts, cultural encounters with local people and optional fly-camping and bush picnics. While the migration passes through this region between December and March, dropping their young on the short grass plains in January and February, the remainder of the year offers excellent resident wildlife and an authentic cultural experience unparalleled in the Serengeti. Guests are allocated a private vehicle and guide and can also visit the Hadzabe, Datoga and Maasai tribes for a glimpse into their culture and traditions as they go about their way of life.
During the famous Great Migration, the wildebeest can be found dropping their young in the southern Serengeti between December and March, and are typically found attempting to cross the Mara River in the northern Serengeti between July and October. The resident wildlife in the park is found year-round. Other typical sightings may include jackal, warthogs and a number of other mammals, birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on rain patterns and wildlife movements.
