Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the camp experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact, high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time.
Our Expert Says
At Serengeti Migration Camp the canvas tents feel close to nature, allowing sounds of the savanna to permeate the walls, but with the comfort of fine furnishings and linens that aren't over the top.

The Camp
Hidden among the rocky outcrops, the camp features 20 luxurious elevated tents, each with spacious and richly furnished bedrooms, blending seamlessly into the environment. Each tent has an en suite shower room with flushing toilet, shower and twin vanity basin, the latter of which receives hot (solar generated) and cold running water 24-hours a day. Every tent has luxuriant soft furnishings, a writing desk and stationery set and a room fan. There is a wooden floor, fixed bathroom walls, fixed wooden doors, all combined with the all-enveloping canvas. Each has its own 360-degree veranda deck, which creates a private sanctuary to enjoy the constant game sightings and the ever-present sounds of the bush. The main tent has a split-level lounge, a swimming pool, restaurant and viewing platforms that offer views across the river and the rugged landscape beyond.
Wildlife Viewing & Activities
Whether it is a walking safari with experienced and highly knowledgeable guides or the sensation of being as close to nature’s daily fight for survival, the sensory feast that accompanies any visit to Serengeti Migration Camp will no doubt rival anything experienced before. Day-long wildlife drives are a must in the Serengeti. You can set off early with Champagne picnic breakfast and stay out all day carrying a delectable picnic lunch. You will be delighted and awed by the sheer numbers of animals including the big-five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. You might see herds of wildebeest and zebra migrating toward the Grumeti River. The views are spectacular, the sunsets and cocktails on the sunset deck are an experience not to be missed.
During the famous Great Migration, the wildebeest can be found dropping their young in the southern Serengeti between December and March, and are typically found attempting to cross the Mara River in the northern Serengeti between July and October. The resident wildlife in the park is found year-round. Other typical sightings may include jackal, warthogs and a number of other mammals, birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on rain patterns and wildlife movements.
