Our flight arrived too late for us to see the countryside. There was also a grid power outage for a large area so our car trip to the lodge was quite dark. The lodge has generator backup so we were warmly received. The next day was quite foggy so there was no possibility of any view anywhere. The grounds are quite beautiful. Learning the former history of the building as a coffee plantation house prior to the demise of the Tanzania coffee industry was quite interesting. The food was good but not great and I wonder if the simplicity of the food had to do with the limited power available to the kitchen. My room was lovely and very much in keeping with the ambiance of the area. We left the next afternoon so we were not able to enjoy the entire facility.
