In September if you want to see the falls, you need to be on the Zimbabwe side. Ilala Lodge is very near to the falls, you can easily walk there. We had a limited budget and wanted to spend our money on seeing wildlife and found Ilala to be perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable, not fancy. We saw warthogs grazing right outside our room.
