This is a great place to go if you love elephants. We did spend some time in the crowded national park, but our fantastic guide Joseph took us into the private reserve that only guests from Tortilis can go to and once we were there, we saw no other vehicles. We spent two full days with the "Meagan" elephant family and got to learn about their family dynamics. Joseph also showed me the bush babies that reside in the trees just outside the lobby. The camp itself is not special, a bit large and mundane, same goes for the food including the set meals, but it is more than worth staying here to have these special elephant encounters.
