Review For Okonjima Bush Camp

Landing on the dirt airstrip at Okonjima is a thrill unto itself. You are greeted by several cheetahs running alongside the landing strip in an enclosure! These are cheetahs that are part of the AfriCat rehabilitation process which you'll learn more about during your stay. If you are a big cat lover, this is the place for you. Over the course of 3 days I saw captive cheetahs being fed up close, wild lions on the reserve, a radio-collared leopard that we tracked, and many other fun things. They will take you out at night to a hide where you'll view all kinds of wonderful creatures you otherwise wouldn't see. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, but not luxurious. It's fun to relax on your bed in the afternoon and watch the warthogs snorting around in the grasses right outside your cottage. AfriCat is a wonderful organization that I still follow on Facebook 5 years later. Check them out, then check in to this camp for a unique African experience!
