Review For Duba Explorers Camp
Duba Plains is really about seeing the Lion and Buffalo interactions. Choosing when to go is important and improves your chances of seeing this interaction. The very best time is July through November before the rains. If the rains are heavy the lion pride may be cut off on an island from the buffalo or inaccessible from camp. You would optimize your chances by staying at least four nights as the lions feed on average every four days. The lions have not read the book so some luck is involved. This experience is one of the most impressive spectacles in nature and well worth seeing.
The camp is very remote, the accommodations and food are good but not great. The staff was friendly but not overly so. The guides were great and because you have come to Duba Plains to see the lions hunt buffalo the guides play a large role in the success of the adventure. They knew from experience where the lion pride would be going and where to position the vehicle for the best experience.
