The Serena is a big, somewhat impersonal hotel, but to be fair, we wanted something inexpensive with crater views and this was the best option for that sort of thing (price plus views). We got what we paid for. If I return to Tanzania, I'll probably go for Lemala, since it's more of a tented, true safari camp. We liked those types of camps and that one looks like a nice experience.
