The views from Virunga Lodge are probably the best in the area. It's a bit further from the park, maybe 45 min- 1 hour drive, versus maybe 20 min from other hotels according to our guide, but it's worth it. We had a private stone patio, quite high up on a mountain that overlooks two absolutely breathtaking lakes. The property was small and intimate, so we felt very well looked after. The lounge was nice with a large central fireplace and more beautiful patios surrounding it. We highly recommend Virunga for the overall quality of experience.
