Splash Camp boasts 12 elegant and relaxed tented suites, situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta in a private land concession with a nearly 19-mile shared boundary with the Moremi Game Reserve. Each tent features modern comforts including an en suite bathroom with a double vanity, both indoor and outdoor showers and a private veranda. A plunge pool, bar and lounge make up the central areas, and the fire pit makes an idyllic location for a light breakfast before heading out on a game drive at dawn, and stories of the day's adventures in the evenings after dinner. The camp has a fresh, casual contemporary look and feel to it with light natural woods and a mix of natural and patterned textiles that create a cool, clean backdrop for your safari. Each tented suite has an expanse of screen doors that open along the front of the room to reveal a view of the landscape, and heavy drapes that close to keep the room warm at night. A sitting area, desk and private deck provide plenty of areas to relax and reflect on your experience. There is also a plunge pool and deck in the central area of camp for relaxing midday.

Wildlife Viewing & Activities

Splash Camp is set within the private Kwara Concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. This unique location showcases both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. This is the heart of the Okavango Delta and boasts abundant wildlife. A year-round water source attracts an array of animals and affords daily land- and water-based wildlife activities. Inclusive excursions include game drives both day and night, mokoro excursions, boat cruises, seasonal fishing between March and December, walking safaris, visit to the heronries at Godikwe and Gcobega lagoons from August to December. This area teems with megafauna and bird life. Spot predators such as cheetah, lion, leopard and hyena, plains game including impala, zebra and giraffe, and of course elephant, buffalo and much more. Embark in the early morning and late afternoon with both a naturalist driver-guide and a tracker. The interaction between your guide and tracker is fascinating to watch as they discuss the movements of and locate animals by following tracks, sounds and other evidence.

The Okavango Delta is a year-round wildlife viewing destination, with the peak mammal viewing in the dry winter between June and October and fantastic birding all year. The below chart shows major wildlife sightings. Other typical sightings may include small mammals, such as jackals, foxes, caracal and serval, and a wide variety of birds and reptiles. Exact sightings will depend on weather and wildlife movements and can vary from camp to camp, since many camps are located on islands.
