Matetsi River Lodge is a luxurious and stylish lodge situated on nine miles of Zambezi River frontage. The lodge is separated into two distinct, intimate camps of nine suites each, maintaining a high level of exclusivity. Each camp also features an inter-leading family suite. Each luxurious suite features a modern exterior and contemporary style, with a wall of sliding glass doors overlooking the Zambezi River. Just beyond the bedroom, a sunken outdoor lounge sits alongside a private plunge pool. An en suite bathroom features a free-standing, circular tub and both indoor and outdoor showers. The main areas of the lodge all open to the riverfront, with tranquil seating and dining areas to gather throughout the day for meals or to relax and take in the surroundings. A lap pool, safari shop, wine cellar, fitness center, library and lounge make up the main areas.

Wildlife Viewing & Activities

Matetsi River Lodge is situated in a 123,500-acre private wildlife concession along the Zambezi River, near Victoria Falls. While you have access to the falls, other inclusive activities comprise wildlife drives, guided walks, canoe and boat excursions, fishing, and birdwatching. Wildlife sightings here include lion, leopard, spotted hyena, African wild dog, large herds of elephant and buffalo, hippo, kudu, sable and roan antelope, as well as at least 366 species of bird. Sunset cruises reveal the majesty and tranquility of this great river. Additional activities such as scenic flights over the falls by helicopter or microlight, horseback safaris, community excursions and adrenaline activities at the falls can be booked at an extra cost. The lap pool, or your private plunge pool, offer a place to relax in between exciting activities in the reserve or at the falls. Few other locations so seamlessly combine the once-in-a-lifetime falls experience with a traditional wildlife experience.

Victoria Falls offers direct access to Zimbabwe and Botswana’s most wildlife-rich game reserves and national parks, from Hwange and Mana Pools National Parks in Zimbabwe to the Okavango Delta, Linyanti Reserve and Kalahari Desert of Botswana. It also serves to break up a safari with both natural and cultural attractions.
