This highly original boutique hotel immerses guests in the peaceful countryside, with 360-degree views of manicured polo fields, the estate dam and distant mountains. The property is designed to emulate a barn, with thick stone-clad walls and heavy bolted timber roof trusses. Rooms are appointed with earth tones, dark rough-cut wood furnishings, heavily textured fabrics, and marble flooring accented with brick. With a nod to the equestrian-oriented surroundings, each is named for a different breed of horse. All rooms have lavish en suite bathrooms and private balconies. The Feedroom restaurant is the executive chef’s signature kitchen. Contemporary meals, served indoors or on the terrace, feature fresh ingredients and creative combinations of world flavors. An array of activities are available, from pampering in the full-service spa, working out in the gym, taking a dip in the pool, walking the trails on the estate grounds or enjoying a game of squash. Nearby excursions include shopping and entertainment in Sandton or Nelson Mandela Square.
