Renovated in 2007 and decorated by the talented owner whose free-flowing, vibrant energy permeates every room, 33 Melville is all about the creation of visual surprise. Three luxurious suites each have a private en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet and digital satellite TV. The Black & Yellow Room, strikingly contemporary, overlooks the front garden brimming with hydrangeas and agapanthas. The more traditional Rose Room overlooks the rose garden, while the sunny, vibrant Victoria’s Room is most playful of all, blending bright colors like a modern art collage. The kitchen, where decadent gourmet breakfasts are prepared, is welcoming, spacious and sunny. Massive wooden doors open onto an expansive patio overlooking the gardens and Johannesburg skyline. Meals are designed by the executive chef-in-residence to suit individual guests' tastes and preferences. Lounging by the pool, playing a game of tennis or relaxing with a movie, you will feel as comfortable as if this were your own South African home.
